How to find LPN Schools in California
By Rachelle Williams of eHow
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs). There are many LPN schools in California because the job is attractive to caring individuals, the pay is above average, and the state is a very desirable place to live. Use these tools to find LPN schools in The Golden State. The first thing you will want to do on your journey to find LPN schools in California is to recognize that an alternative name for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). When researching LPN schools you will want to make sure to query both terms. Next you will need to visit the website of the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service, Inc. (NAPNES). Here you will be able to locate all of the LPN schools in California. There is a direct link to this page listed in the “Resources” section below. It is a good idea that you also subscribe to the NAPNES Newsletter. It is free, and by reading it you will be kept abreast of any changes in the LPN field. As always, see the “Resources” section below for this link. Once you have located the LPN school in the area closest to you, you should be prepared with a list of questions to ask of the admissions representatives. I have prepared a comprehensive list of questions in a previous article. The title of the article is: How to Properly Investigate a School Opportunity. As always, the link to this article is also listed below in “Resources.” When you have enrolled in the LPN school in the area of your choice, and have gone through a couple of semesters, it is a good idea to apply for nursing scholarships. One scholarship in particular is the Beverly M. Morgan Scholarship (see “Resources” below). It is only $100, but it is extremely easy to qualify for the award. Good Luck on your academic endeavors.
